The Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo left Sunday’s 134-123 victory over the Indiana Pacers after appearing to hyperextend his left knee late in the third quarter.

The two-time MVP landed awkwardly following a spin-move dunk and remained on the floor for several seconds. He stayed in the game for just over a minute before heading to the bench and did not return.

Antetokounmpo attempted to loosen the knee on a stationary bike and through light exercises, but team medical staff ultimately kept him sidelined for the remainder of the night.

Head coach Doc Rivers told reporters the injury was likely a hyperextension but said the team had not yet provided an official diagnosis and had not decided on imaging. “My guess is he hyperextended his knee, but I’m guessing,” Rivers said.

After the game, Antetokounmpo stated he does not plan to undergo scans. “I’m just going to go back home, sleep, see how I feel tomorrow, try to lift some weights,” he said. “If I have a little bit of discomfort, then I’ll go from there. But as of right now, I’m not really bothered by it.”

The forward has appeared in 36 of Milwaukee’s 67 games this season, averaging 29.7 points, 9.7 rebounds and 5.4 assists.
