Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo told NBA reporter Chris Haynes this week that his attention is fixed on recovering from a calf strain and remaining present with the team, rather than pondering a potential exit.

“I’m just being where my feet are planted,” Antetokounmpo said during Haynes’ latest podcast. The two-time MVP repeated a longtime mantra, explaining that when he sees a barrier, he tries to “run through it, make things work, get healthy, and be there” for his teammates.

Haynes added that Antetokounmpo is uncertain about the organization’s long-term plans and has no insight into the front office’s thinking. The 29-year-old noted that regaining full strength in his right calf is his top priority.

According to Haynes, the star forward and his agent have recently begun preliminary conversations with Milwaukee regarding his future. Meanwhile, the Bucks are preparing to play approximately four weeks without their franchise cornerstone as he rehabs the strain.

Antetokounmpo insisted he will not “run from the situation,” emphasizing his intent to fight through the injury and rejoin a roster aiming for another deep postseason run.
