Firefighters battled a two-alarm blaze early Thursday at Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra’s residence in Miami-Dade County, authorities said.

Crews were dispatched at approximately 5:25 a.m. ET—about 25 minutes after the Heat’s charter flight from Denver touched down following a four-game trip. No injuries were reported, but responders spent more than four hours working to contain flames at the five-bedroom property, which sits on a 43,000-square-foot lot and sold for $6.6 million in 2023. The home includes a pool and tennis courts.

Heat Await Adebayo MRI Results

Center Bam Adebayo exited Wednesday’s 108-92 loss to the Nuggets late in the first quarter with a left foot injury. He is scheduled for an MRI on Thursday to determine the extent of the damage. “We’ll figure it out, get more tests and then see how it goes,” Adebayo said.

Magic Look to Regroup During Homestand

Orlando will play seven of its next nine games at Amway Center after opening the season 3-5. Guard Jalen Suggs said the team must sharpen its execution: “We’ve got to withstand runs, withstand some adversity, get it flowing, find our groove, find our swag. All of it’s just a little off right now.”

Hornets Lose Miller for At Least Two Weeks

Charlotte forward Brandon Miller is expected to miss a minimum of two weeks with a subluxation in his left shoulder suffered while fighting through a screen during the season’s second game in Philadelphia. “No timeline right now—just working to get back, get the muscles around it stronger and go from there,” Miller said.
