Greece claimed the last available berth in the EuroBasket 2025 quarterfinals on Sunday, riding a 37-point, 10-rebound performance from Giannis Antetokounmpo to edge Israel in Riga, Latvia. The Milwaukee Bucks star hit 18 of 23 shots in just 29 minutes, and the Greek side led for 39:13 of the 40-minute game, according to FIBA.
Portland Trail Blazers forward Deni Avdija paced Israel with 22 points, but the loss ended the nation’s tournament run.

Tournament notes
Turkey and Germany enter the quarterfinals with perfect 6-0 records after defeating Sweden and Portugal, respectively, in the round of 16. Poland advanced by upsetting Bosnia and Herzegovina, while Slovenia reached the last eight by eliminating Italy.
Finland and Georgia produced the biggest surprises of the tournament so far, knocking out France and Serbia—both 4-1 in the group stage—to earn their quarterfinal meeting.
Teams ousted in the round of 16 have been officially placed in the following order: France, Serbia, Italy, Latvia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Israel, Portugal, and Sweden.
