With most rookie business already settled, eight members of the 2025 NBA draft class still do not have contracts for the upcoming season, according to figures compiled by Hoops Rumors.
Fifty-one of the 59 selections are officially under contract, a group that includes every first-round pick, 11 second-rounders on standard deals and 10 more on two-way agreements. Two second-round choices—Bogoljub Markovic (Milwaukee Bucks) and Saliou Niang (Cleveland Cavaliers)—will remain overseas for 2025-26, leaving six other draftees whose NBA status is unresolved.
Unsigned draft picks
Amari Williams, Boston Celtics (No. 46 overall)
Williams was reported on draft night as a likely two-way signing, but Boston has no open two-way slots. The Celtics could clear a spot by moving Miles Norris or newly acquired RJ Luis, or they could fill out the roster with Williams on a standard rookie minimum while continuing efforts to stay below the luxury-tax threshold.
Mohamed Diawara, New York Knicks
New York has 12 players on standard contracts and is pressed against the second-apron hard cap. Only one minimum-salary slot remains, and Diawara is competing for it with 2023 second-rounder James Nnaji. If Diawara does not land the 14th roster spot, he is expected to accept a two-way deal after leaving his French club for the NBA.
Alex Toohey and Will Richard, Golden State Warriors
Golden State has two open two-way positions and could assign both to Toohey and Richard. The front office is first addressing Jonathan Kuminga’s restricted free agency; if apron restrictions tighten, either rookie might be promoted to a standard minimum contract.
John Tonje, Utah Jazz
Utah created room by sending RJ Luis to Boston, clearing two-way space for both Tonje and restricted free agent Oscar Tshiebwe without additional moves.

Jahmai Mashack, Memphis Grizzlies
The Grizzlies have one vacant two-way slot, and Mashack is considered the favorite. Memphis could still choose a domestic draft-and-stash route, assigning him to its G-League affiliate for the season without an NBA or two-way contract.
Historically, at least one draftee per year follows the domestic stash path, remaining in the G-League while the NBA team retains rights. Whether any of the six unsigned players join that list should be settled before training camps open.
