Donovan Mitchell dropped 27 points and Sam Merrill added 22 as the Cleveland Cavaliers rolled past the New Orleans Pelicans, 141-118, on Tuesday night at Rocket Arena.

The victory gave Cleveland (17-14) its second win in as many nights and its first set of back-to-back triumphs since late November. The game tilted decisively early in the second half, with the Cavaliers using balanced scoring, up-tempo play and accurate shooting to build a 23-point cushion—their second-largest margin of the season.

Nine of the 11 Cavaliers who saw action reached double figures, a feat the franchise has accomplished only twice, both this season. Cleveland has now scored at least 139 points in consecutive games and eight times overall in 2023-24. The bench contributed 57 points, led by Jaylon Tyson’s 18 and a season-high 15 from Thomas Bryant.

Jarrett Allen finished with 14 points, hitting his first three-pointer since January 2023. Merrill, playing his second game after a 14-game absence with a sprained right hand, went 7-for-12 from the floor and 6-for-10 from beyond the arc in 26 minutes, marking his third 20-point outing of the year.

Zion Williamson scored 26 off the bench for New Orleans, but the Pelicans’ five-game winning streak came to an end.
