Milwaukee Bucks head coach Doc Rivers may not return to the bench next season, according to reporting from Marc Stein of The Stein Line.
Stein writes that league insiders increasingly believe Milwaukee will either part ways with Rivers or shift him into a different position once the regular season ends, with a front-office role among the possibilities.
The speculation has intensified in the wake of Rivers’ upcoming Hall of Fame induction in Springfield, which some around the league view as a potential capstone to his coaching tenure in Milwaukee, Stein noted.
The Bucks have underperformed this year and are dealing with mounting internal strain involving star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo. Jake Fischer, also of The Stein Line, added that the franchise is expected to undertake major organizational changes during the offseason.
If Milwaukee decides to make a coaching change, former Memphis Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins is viewed as a candidate to replace Rivers, Stein reported.
