Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker exited Friday night’s matchup against the Atlanta Hawks after injuring his right ankle in the final seconds of the third quarter.

The sequence began when Booker had a defensive rebound knocked loose by Hawks forward Mouhamed Gueye. As Grayson Allen collected the ball but lost it out of bounds, Booker turned his attention toward Allen and accidentally stepped on the left foot of Atlanta center Onyeka Okongwu, causing his own ankle to roll.

Booker immediately fell to the floor clutching his ankle. He was helped to his feet and limped directly to the visitors’ locker room, according to Brad Rowland of Locked On Hawks. The 29-year-old guard did not return.

Before leaving, the four-time All-Star tallied 31 points on 12-of-21 shooting, along with four rebounds and three assists in 28 minutes. Phoenix held a seven-point lead entering the fourth quarter, but managed just 12 points in the final period without its leading scorer and ultimately fell 110-103.

Should Booker miss additional time, backcourt minutes could increase for Allen, Collin Gillespie and Jordan Goodwin.
