With the NBA trade deadline set for February 5, league executives are eyeing DeMar DeRozan as the Sacramento Kings’ most attainable veteran, according to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.

DeRozan’s contract—$24.6 million this season and only $10 million guaranteed for 2024-25—places him well below the financial commitments tied to teammates Zach LaVine and Domantas Sabonis. LaVine is owed $47.5 million this year with a $49 million player option in the future, while Sabonis is set to collect $42.3 million this season and another $94 million over the following two campaigns.

Because of that smaller number, front-office sources consider DeRozan the “cleanest” acquisition among Sacramento’s top three stars. Siegel lists the Bucks, Clippers, Heat, Trail Blazers and Grizzlies as logical fits, though it remains unclear which, if any, have formally inquired.

Sabonis’ status also factors into Sacramento’s outlook. The All-Star center is still rehabilitating from a meniscus tear and may not enter the final phase of his recovery until around Christmas, limiting immediate interest from potential suitors.

For now, the Kings stand as one of the league’s primary wild cards, with DeRozan positioned at the center of most trade conversations as the calendar moves closer to early February.
