Darius Garland’s scoring surge continued Wednesday night as the two-time All-Star poured in 24 points to lead the Los Angeles Clippers past the Toronto Raptors, 128-103, at Crypto.com Arena.
The 24-year-old guard shot 9-of-15 from the field and added six assists, four rebounds, a steal and a block in 30 minutes. Since debuting for Los Angeles on Mar. 2, Garland is averaging 21.1 points, 6.8 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 1.1 steals over 11 games while converting 50.6 percent from the floor, 51.2 percent from three and 82.6 percent at the line.
“You see that he’s enjoying the game and he’s just loving it,” Kawhi Leonard said, according to the Orange County Register. “It’s when your hard work pays off.”
Garland’s deep-range accuracy continued to open the floor for Leonard, who finished with 27 points, six rebounds and two assists in 30 minutes. Leonard has now topped the 20-point mark in 49 consecutive outings.
The victory moved the Clippers to three games behind Phoenix for the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference and kept them a half-game ahead of Portland for the No. 9 spot.
