Golden State Warriors
Stephen Curry is expected to be back in uniform Friday, ending a two-week absence caused by a right quad strain. The two-time MVP was removed from the club’s injury report and is on track to play for the first time since Nov. 26.
The Warriors will remain thin up front. Draymond Green is away from the team for personal reasons, and Al Horford continues to sit out because of a nerve issue in his back.
Charlotte Hornets
Guard Josh Green is no longer listed on Charlotte’s injury report and is poised to make his season debut Friday against Chicago. The 23-year-old underwent surgery on his left shoulder in June and missed training camp, spending recent weeks on a rehab assignment with the Greensboro Swarm of the G League.
Green is in the second season of a three-year, $41 million contract and started 67 of 68 contests last year. His return comes as the Hornets’ backcourt deals with several absences: LaMelo Ball (ankle), Tre Mann (knee) and Collin Sexton (quad) have all been ruled out for Friday’s matchup.
Chicago Bulls
Despite a 9-14 record and a mounting injury list, head coach Billy Donovan told reporters he still sees a path forward for Chicago. “We’ve had an enormous amount of injuries,” Donovan said, noting the difficulty of finding continuity without a full roster. “If you’ve got nine or 10 guys committed to doing the things necessary, there’s enough in that locker room.”
Donovan has recently stressed attention to details such as boxing out, diving for loose balls and overall urgency. Guard Josh Giddey backed that message, saying the Bulls have strong chemistry but must “play for each other” more consistently.
