Turkish powerhouse Anadolu Efes announced on August 11 that it has signed forward Cole Swider, ending the 26-year-old’s three-season run in the NBA.

Swider entered free agency after splitting the 2024/25 campaign between the Pistons and Raptors. The 6-foot-8 sharpshooter logged his first extended NBA minutes in Toronto, averaging 7.4 points and 3.1 rebounds across eight games and 19.5 minutes per contest. Overall, he has appeared in 35 NBA games, averaging 8.5 minutes.

Undrafted out of Syracuse in 2022, Swider spent his first two professional seasons on two-way contracts with the Lakers and Heat. He built a reputation as a perimeter threat, converting 44.6% of his three-point attempts over 83 G League outings and never dipping below 42.9% in any season. Last month, he hit 43.1% from deep in eight Summer League games with the Lakers at the California Classic and Las Vegas showcases.

By joining Efes, Swider becomes teammates with former NBA players Shane Larkin, Rodrigue Beaubois, PJ Dozier and Georgios Papagiannis. The Istanbul club will be coached in 2025/26 by longtime NBA assistant Igor Kokoskov. Efes finished last season 20-14 in EuroLeague play and 19-7 in Turkey’s Basketball Super League, falling in the EuroLeague playoffs to Panathinaikos and in the BSL semifinals to Besiktas.
