Milwaukee, WI — Newly signed guard Cole Anthony said joining the Milwaukee Bucks has reinvigorated him after seeing his role shrink with the Orlando Magic in recent seasons.

“Obviously, I loved my time (with the Magic), but this feels like, for me, a stepping stone in my career,” Anthony told Eric Nehm of The Athletic. “I just want to come in and help the team win in whichever way I can. I think they’re going to ask me to do what I can do, which is score, pass the ball, guard, whatever, but I’m just really happy to be a part of this team.”

Anthony said the atmosphere in Milwaukee has been upbeat since he arrived. “The energy is high. There’s a real professional vibe around everybody, and everybody has a chip on their shoulder,” he added.

The 24-year-old joins a reworked roster that underwent significant turnover during the offseason. Milwaukee’s headline addition was former Indiana Pacers center Myles Turner, signed in free agency as the Bucks look to remain contenders in the Eastern Conference.

Head coach Adrian Griffin is expected to rely on Anthony’s scoring and defensive toughness to strengthen a youthful backcourt and support two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo in the team’s push for another championship run.
