The Minnesota Timberwolves released rookie point guard CJ Fulton on September 24, 2025, only hours after announcing his Exhibit 10 agreement, according to the NBA’s official transaction log.
The quick waive was planned to steer the Belfast-born guard toward the organization’s NBA G League affiliate, the Iowa Wolves. If Fulton spends at least 60 days with Iowa, the Exhibit 10 deal allows him to collect a bonus of up to $85,300.
Fulton joined Minnesota as an undrafted free agent following a senior season at the College of Charleston in which he averaged 7.8 points, 6.5 assists and 4.1 rebounds. He also appeared with the Timberwolves’ Summer League squad earlier this offseason.
With Fulton off the roster, Minnesota enters training camp next week with 19 players under contract, two shy of the 21-player offseason limit.
