The Dallas Mavericks have signaled a willingness to discuss trades involving several high-profile players, including forward/center Anthony Davis, league sources told ESPN’s Shams Charania.

In addition to Davis, Dallas is open to offers for center Daniel Gafford, swingman Klay Thompson and point guard D’Angelo Russell, according to the report. Gafford’s three-year, $54.4 million extension begins in 2026/27, keeping him trade-eligible under extend-and-trade limits. Thompson earns $16.7 million this season and is guaranteed $17.5 million in 2026/27, while Russell is on a $5.7 million deal for 2025/26 with a $6 million player option for the following year.

Thompson joined Dallas in the 2024 offseason to play alongside Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving; Doncic is now off the roster and Irving has missed more than nine months with an ACL tear. The Mavericks started the year 9-16, and rivals are aware Thompson prefers a title contender, Charania noted.

Michael Finley and Matt Riccardi, serving as co-interim general managers, are leading personnel discussions. Both are expected to be considered for the permanent job after the season.

Other notes from Charania’s “Inside Pass”

Pacers: Indiana is actively pursuing a long-term solution at center after losing Myles Turner in free agency. Isaiah Jackson, Jay Huff and Tony Bradley have shared the position so far.

Hawks: Despite speculation about a possible trade, Atlanta believes Trae Young will boost the club once he returns from the sprained MCL that has sidelined him since late October. Young hopes to play later this month.

Nets: Brooklyn remains the league’s lone team with cap space and is discussing ways to absorb salaries for additional assets. The front office may also work with guard Cam Thomas—who holds an implicit no-trade clause after accepting his qualifying offer—to secure a mutually acceptable destination.

Warriors: Golden State intends to gauge the market for forward Jonathan Kuminga when he becomes trade-eligible on Jan. 15.

Kings: Sacramento is keeping most of its roster in play, with opposing teams tracking Domantas Sabonis, Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan and Keon Ellis as potential targets.
