Cleveland forward NaeQwan Tomlin is drawing internal support for a conversion from his two-way deal to a standard NBA contract, but the Cavaliers are expected to wait until after the Feb. 5 trade deadline, according to Cleveland.com. Tomlin has appeared in 41 games, leaving him nine shy of the 50-game limit for two-way players. With limited cap room, the club prefers to keep a roster spot open while monitoring potential deals.

The Pistons beat New Orleans on Wednesday without All-Star starter Cade Cunningham, who sat out because of an illness and a left hip contusion. Detroit lists the guard as questionable for Friday’s home matchup against Houston.

The Bucks, sitting roughly $18 million below the first tax apron, have few tradable assets but some salary flexibility. The Athletic outlined several hypothetical moves, ranging from smaller additions—such as Washington’s Kyle Kuzma, Orlando’s Gary Harris, or the Clippers’ Amir Coffey—to a larger package centered on Bobby Portis and others in an effort to land the Kings’ Zach LaVine.

Pacers guard Quenton Jackson jammed his ankle during Wednesday’s loss to Boston. Head coach Rick Carlisle said the injury did not require crutches, though Jackson was in visible pain. He is listed as questionable for Friday’s game against Oklahoma City.
