The Boston Celtics announced on Aug. 10 they have released 6-foot-10 stretch forward Miles Norris, who was under a two-way contract.
Norris, 25, appeared in three games for Boston last season after spending the previous year playing professionally in Turkey.
The move could pave the way for second-round pick Amari Williams to join the roster on a two-way deal, according to MassLive’s Souichi Terada. Selected 46th overall in the 2025 NBA Draft, Williams has not yet signed any contract with the club.
Two of Boston’s three allotted two-way spots are already filled by guard Max Shulga and recently acquired wing RJ Luis. Waiving Norris opens the third slot, giving the team room to add Williams if it chooses.
Williams, a 6-foot-11 center out of Kentucky noted for his passing skills, averaged 6.25 points, five rebounds and 1.75 assists in 17.6 minutes during four appearances with the Celtics’ Summer League squad.
