The Boston Celtics completed their 21-man preseason roster by signing free-agent swingman Wendell Moore Jr. to an Exhibit 10 contract, according to Noa Dalzell of CelticsBlog.

Moore, 24, entered the league as the 26th overall pick in the 2022 draft. He spent his first two seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves before being traded to the Detroit Pistons during the 2024 offseason. Detroit waived him at the February 2025 trade deadline, and he finished last season with the Charlotte Hornets on a two-way contract.

The 6-foot-5 guard/forward has appeared in 90 NBA games, averaging 8.1 minutes. His most extensive run came in Charlotte, where he posted 5.4 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists over 17.5 minutes in 16 contests off the bench.

Boston currently carries 14 players on standard deals and three on two-way contracts. Because of potential luxury-tax costs, the club is not expected to add a 15th standard player before opening night. Moore’s best path to sticking with the Celtics would be converting his Exhibit 10 agreement into a two-way slot, a move that would require waiving one of the team’s existing two-way players.

If he is released before the regular season, Moore could join the Maine Celtics of the NBA G League. Spending at least 60 days with Boston’s affiliate would earn him a bonus of up to $85,300 in addition to his G League salary.
