The Boston Celtics plan to sign free agent guard/forward Kendall Brown, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. The expected agreement is an Exhibit 10 contract that will allow the 22-year-old to compete for a two-way roster spot during training camp.

Exhibit 10 deals are non-guaranteed, carry no salary-cap charge and can be converted into two-way contracts before the regular season begins.

Brown entered the NBA as the No. 48 pick in the 2022 draft following one season at Baylor. He spent most of his first two years on two-way pacts with the Indiana Pacers and was promoted to a standard contract in March 2024. Indiana waived him last fall, and he did not appear in an NBA game during the 2024-25 campaign.

The 6-foot-8 wing played last season for the G League’s Long Island Nets, averaging 16.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.1 steals across 37 games while shooting 56.5% from the field and 40.0% from three-point range. He also spent a brief stretch on a two-way contract with the Brooklyn Nets late in the winter.

Boston is expected to finalize another Exhibit 10 agreement with forward Jalen Bridges, who spent his rookie year on a two-way deal with the Phoenix Suns. Phoenix declined to extend a qualifying offer in June, making Bridges an unrestricted free agent. Both Brown and Bridges played for the Celtics in the Las Vegas Summer League.

The Celtics currently have all three two-way slots filled by rookies Max Shulga, Amari Williams and RJ Luis Jr. Luis, who went undrafted and arrived in a salary-dump trade with Utah, is viewed as the most at risk of losing his spot.
