The Memphis Grizzlies are fielding calls on forward Jaren Jackson Jr., with the Detroit Pistons and Boston Celtics among the clubs that have expressed interest, according to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto.

Multiple reports indicate Memphis intends to build around the 26-year-old and is not actively shopping him, even as speculation intensifies following the team’s willingness to discuss guard Ja Morant.

Why Detroit and Boston Are Interested

The Pistons are seeking a front-court player who can stretch the floor alongside Jalen Duren and Isaiah Stewart. Jackson fits that profile, having converted better than 37 percent of his three-point attempts over the last two seasons.

Boston, meanwhile, has a vacancy up front after losing Al Horford and Luke Kornet in free agency and trading Kristaps Porzingis. Jackson’s combination of shooting and rim protection addresses that need.

Memphis Remains Reluctant

League sources believe the Grizzlies are unwilling to part with Jackson, who is under contract through at least 2029. That position could be revisited if Morant is moved before the Feb. 5 trade deadline, but for now Memphis is holding firm.

Status of Ja Morant

Scotto reports Miami, Milwaukee, Sacramento, Toronto, and New Orleans have shown interest in Morant, though executives characterize it as “buy-low” curiosity rather than aggressive pursuit.

An earlier ESPN story described Morant’s market as “tepid,” a sentiment echoed by team officials. The guard remains sidelined with a right calf injury and missed Thursday’s game in Germany. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said he hopes Morant can play Sunday in London to help showcase the league’s stars internationally.

For now, Jackson appears off-limits, Morant’s future is uncertain, and Memphis continues to listen while protecting one cornerstone as it evaluates the other.
