The Boston Celtics spoiled Giannis Antetokounmpo’s comeback on Monday, rolling past the Milwaukee Bucks 108–81 and handing Milwaukee its third consecutive lopsided defeat.
Antetokounmpo, back after missing 15 games with a right calf strain suffered on Jan. 23, logged 25 minutes and produced 19 points and 11 rebounds. The Bucks went 8–7 during his absence but have now dropped three straight, each by at least 23 points.
Boston’s depth carried the night. Payton Pritchard scored a game-high 25 points and matched Derrick White with nine assists. Rookie forward Hugo González, making only his third career start, posted personal bests of 18 points and 16 rebounds. White added 18 points.
The Celtics played without All-Star guard Jaylen Brown, sidelined by illness, and rested center Neemias Queta one day after his 27-point performance. Even so, they seized control early, turning a one-point deficit into an 18-point advantage with a 24–5 burst that bridged the first and second quarters.
Milwaukee closed within nine in the third period, but Boston responded with 15 unanswered points to put the game out of reach.
