The Cleveland Cavaliers trimmed their roster on Monday, waiving forwards Miller Kopp and Chaney Johnson, according to the NBA’s official transaction log.

Both players had joined the team on Exhibit 10 contracts in late September and spent training camp vying for spots with the organization’s G League affiliate, the Cleveland Charge. Kopp appeared in two preseason contests, while Johnson saw the floor in one game.

Kopp, 26, went undrafted out of Indiana in 2023 and spent the last two seasons with the Oklahoma City Blue, the Thunder’s G League club. The 6-foot-7 shooter averaged 12.3 points and 5.4 rebounds last season while connecting on nearly 42 percent of his three-point attempts.

Johnson, also 6-foot-7, joined Cleveland shortly after going undrafted out of Auburn this summer. Serving as a key reserve for a Tigers squad that reached the Final Four, he posted 9.1 points and 4.9 rebounds in 23.5 minutes per game.

Both players are considered candidates to land with the Charge when the G League season begins. With the moves, Cleveland’s training-camp roster stands at 18 players heading into Tuesday’s preseason finale against the Detroit Pistons.
