Former Cleveland Cavaliers center and longtime radio color analyst Jim Chones is stepping away from his role on the team’s broadcasts, describing the change as “a transition.”
Chones, who has been a familiar voice alongside play-by-play announcer Tim Alcorn on the Cavaliers Radio Network, confirmed his departure but did not outline specific future plans. The move ends a lengthy tenure in which the ex-NBA champion provided in-game commentary and post-game analysis for Cleveland’s fans.
The Cavaliers have not yet announced a replacement for Chones, nor have they indicated whether he might remain involved with the organization in another capacity.
