Center Jarrett Allen has again emerged in league-wide trade chatter, with Bleacher Report’s Dan Favale identifying the Cleveland Cavaliers big man as the player the franchise is “most likely” to move before the NBA’s February trade deadline.
Executives cited by Favale point to Cleveland’s roster balance between Allen and rising star Evan Mobley. Mobley has logged roughly two-thirds of his minutes at center this season, while Allen is averaging 26.1 minutes per game—the lowest since his rookie year. The 25-year-old is currently sidelined with a finger injury, and the Cavaliers have struggled to replicate his impact in the lineup.
Allen, a 2022 All-Star, is producing 14.3 points and 7.6 rebounds on 57 percent shooting. He is earning $20 million this season and does not possess a no-trade clause, factors that could simplify any potential deal.
Cleveland, 14-11 after a schedule heavy on road games and injuries, has repeatedly indicated it values Allen highly and is not rushing into major roster changes. Nonetheless, league observers continue to debate whether the organization will eventually commit fully to Mobley at center, opening the door for an Allen move.
The 6-foot-11 veteran has previously been linked to clubs such as the New Orleans Pelicans and Indiana Pacers, but conversations to date remain external speculation as the Cavaliers prioritize health and stability.
