Cavaliers bring Hayes, Enaruna and three others into training camp

The Cleveland Cavaliers have offered training-camp spots to five free agents, including former lottery pick Killian Hayes and ex-Cleveland State forward Tristan Enaruna, according to Cleveland.com’s Chris Fedor.
The invitation list also features forward Norchad Omier, wing Chaney Johnson and guard Jaxson Robinson.
Hayes gets fresh opportunity
Hayes, a 6-foot-5 point guard chosen seventh overall by Detroit in the 2020 draft, is expected to spend time with the Cavs’ G League affiliate, the Cleveland Charge. League sources told Hoops Wire the 23-year-old will still receive a thorough evaluation and could earn a place on the NBA roster.
Enaruna returns to Ohio
Enaruna, a Dutch native, played two seasons at Kansas and one at Iowa State before finishing his college career at Cleveland State. Over two years with the Vikings he averaged 19.5 points and 6.5 rebounds, securing 2024 First Team All-Horizon League honors.
After going undrafted, the 6-foot-8 forward signed with Boston and spent his rookie season with the Maine Celtics in the G League, then suited up for Cleveland’s summer-league squad. “He can be an NBA player,” Cavs summer-league coach Omar Cook said in July.
Omier, Johnson and Robinson round out the group
Omier impressed during summer play with Cleveland. “A few years ago, I never would’ve imagined I’d be here,” the Nicaraguan forward told FIBA Basketball, recalling long hours on neighborhood courts back home.
Johnson and Robinson, both seeking their first NBA contracts, will also compete for roster consideration when camp opens.
The Cavaliers have not announced when the five players will report, but all are expected to join the team ahead of preseason workouts.
