NBA front offices have been dialing Cleveland to ask about Donovan Mitchell’s availability, but the Cleveland Cavaliers are not entertaining offers for their leading scorer, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
Cleveland sits at 17-14 after back-to-back victories, and Mitchell’s production has been central to that record. Before Tuesday’s win over New Orleans, the 29-year-old guard was averaging 30.7 points, 4.5 rebounds and 5.4 assists while shooting 49.5 percent from the field, 38.9 percent from three-point range and 85.0 percent at the free-throw line.
League executives believe the Cavaliers would only consider a deal if Mitchell requested one, and there is no indication he has done so. ESPN’s Shams Charania previously reported that Mitchell and forward Evan Mobley are considered “untouchable” in trade discussions.
The Cavaliers finished last season with the best record in the Eastern Conference but were eliminated by Indiana in the second round. The current core of Mitchell, Mobley, Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen has yet to advance past the conference semifinals, prompting persistent outside speculation.
Mitchell, acquired from Utah in 2022, reiterated his commitment to Cleveland by signing a three-year, $150 million extension in July 2024. For now, rival general managers can keep calling—Cleveland is not picking up with trade intentions.
