The Cleveland Cavaliers and Milwaukee Bucks have both expressed interest in trading for Brooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas ahead of the NBA’s Thursday trade deadline, according to a report from Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

Thomas, 24, will not play in Thursday’s matchup with the Orlando Magic because of personal reasons, the same designation that preceded James Harden’s move to Cleveland earlier this week.

At 6-foot-3, Thomas has appeared in 24 games this season, averaging 15.6 points while shooting 40 percent from the field. He is playing on a one-year qualifying offer worth about $6 million, making his contract relatively easy to move. He posted 24.0 points per game in 24 appearances last season and 22.5 points in 66 contests the year before.

Cavaliers president of basketball operations Koby Altman has already reshaped the roster this week. Cleveland acquired Harden from the Los Angeles Clippers in a deal that involved Darius Garland, and on Sunday added Dennis Schroder and Keon Ellis in a trade that sent DeAndre Hunter to the Sacramento Kings.

Milwaukee, meanwhile, continues to evaluate potential packages that could center on star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo as the 3 p.m. ET deadline approaches.

No agreement involving Thomas had been reached as of Wednesday night.
