The Cleveland Cavaliers plan to release two-way wing Luke Travers in the wake of the franchise’s multi-team trade that sent De’Andre Hunter to the Sacramento Kings, according to Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com.

The deal brought guard Dennis Schröder and guard/forward Keon Ellis to Cleveland, while center Dario Šarić was rerouted from Sacramento to the Chicago Bulls. Clearing Travers’ spot will help the Cavaliers accommodate the new arrivals on the roster.

Travers, 24, stands 6-foot-6 and has appeared in 24 NBA contests over two seasons—12 games in 2022-23 and 12 this year. He owns career averages of 1.7 points and 1.8 rebounds and has spent most of his time with the G League’s Cleveland Charge.

Cleveland drafted the Australian native with the 58th overall pick in the 2022 second round. He signed his first two-way contract in August 2024 and secured a new two-way agreement this past July.

The Cavaliers also face an upcoming decision on two-way forward NaeQwan Tomlin, who is nearing the 50-game limit allowed under his current deal. League sources have speculated that Tomlin could soon be converted to a standard NBA contract.
