The Cleveland Cavaliers are bringing back guard Darius Brown II on an expected Exhibit 10 contract, according to multiple reports, including Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com.

The 26-year-old spent last season with the Cleveland Charge, the club’s NBA G League affiliate, after being waived three days into training camp in October. He started 16 games for the Charge and averaged 7.7 points, 5.2 assists and 3.6 rebounds.

An Exhibit 10 deal enables the Cavaliers to hold Brown’s G League rights and awards him a bonus if he returns to the Charge and stays at least 60 days.

Brown, listed at 6-foot-2, played college basketball at Utah State, the alma mater of Cavs guard Sam Merrill. Cleveland is the only NBA team featuring two former Aggies on its roster.

Fedor added that Brown is expected to sign after the Cavaliers’ third preseason game and could be available for the preseason finale next week against the Detroit Pistons. The front office must make a corresponding roster move before the signing becomes official.
