The Cleveland Cavaliers have filled their final two-way roster slot, adding 25-year-old forward Riley Minix, according to the NBA’s official transaction log.

Minix began the 2023-24 season on a two-way agreement with the San Antonio Spurs, appearing in three games and totaling eight minutes before being waived in December when the Spurs created space for Kyle Mangas.

After leaving San Antonio, the 6-foot-7 wing joined the Cleveland Charge, the Cavaliers’ NBA G League affiliate. In 12 regular-season outings with the Charge, he averaged 19.3 points and 6.7 rebounds while shooting 55.6 percent from the field and 45.7 percent from three-point range, emerging as one of the team’s most dependable scoring options.

Cleveland had been carrying Tristan Enaruna and Emanuel Miller on two-way contracts. A vacancy opened when NaeQwan Tomlin was elevated to the Cavaliers’ standard 15-man roster, creating room for Minix.

Under NBA rules, players on two-way deals may dress for a maximum of 50 regular-season games; because Minix is joining mid-season, he will be eligible to appear in up to 17 contests for the Cavaliers.
