Brooklyn guard Cam Thomas is slated to come back to action on Saturday when the Nets meet the Minnesota Timberwolves, head coach Jordi Fernandez confirmed to reporters.

Reporter Brian Lewis of the New York Post noted that Thomas completed a full practice Friday morning after receiving clearance for full-contact drills. The workout marked his final step before being activated for game duty.

Brooklyn opened the season with a 3-16 record but has steadied in recent weeks, posting a 6-3 mark over its last nine contests.

“I just want to get back on the court and play,” Thomas said when asked if the club’s recent surge added to his motivation. “It’s obviously good seeing them playing well. I just want to get back on the court and play.”

The 24-year-old accepted a one-year qualifying offer last summer to remain in Brooklyn. Limited to eight appearances this season, he is averaging 21.4 points and 2.6 assists in 28.3 minutes per game. Injuries have curtailed his availability in recent years; he logged only 33 games combined over the previous two campaigns.
