The Chicago Bulls halted an 11-game losing streak on Sunday, defeating the Milwaukee Bucks 120-97 at the United Center. The victory is Chicago’s first since January 31 and ends a winless February for the young roster.
Head coach Billy Donovan said the team’s commitment never faltered during the month-long slide.
“I know it’s been frustrating for them,” Donovan told reporters, according to Brian Sandalow of the Chicago Sun-Times. “I’m in the locker room after a game and after a loss they feel like they’re working hard, they’re trying hard. To see them stick with it for a whole month like this and to go through the struggles of that, I just appreciate the way they’ve stayed together and just continued to try to come back in each day to work to get better.”
Donovan added that, despite the extended skid, he has witnessed growth within the group. Sunday’s result provided the first concrete evidence of that progress.
