Chicago Bulls combo guard Anfernee Simons will remain out for at least two additional contests as he continues to deal with an ulnar styloid fracture in his left wrist.

Head coach Billy Donovan told reporters that Simons managed to take a few shots during Tuesday’s shootaround, but the 26-year-old still feels pain when catching and dribbling the ball. The team plans for Simons to meet with a hand specialist once Chicago’s current road trip ends.

The Bulls face the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday and the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday before returning home for Monday’s matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies. Simons is already ruled out for the two games in California, extending his absence to at least 10 straight outings.

Chicago acquired Simons from the Boston Celtics at the trade deadline. He aggravated the wrist injury on February 21 after appearing in six games with the Bulls; the original fracture occurred during Boston’s training camp.

Donovan said earlier this month that surgery is not being considered during the season, though a procedure could be revisited in the offseason if discomfort persists.

Simons is earning $27.7 million in the final year of his contract. Unless he signs a veteran extension, he will enter unrestricted free agency this summer. Through 55 games overall, he is averaging 14.3 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 24.9 minutes, shooting 44.0% from the field, 38.5% from three and 89.6% at the foul line.
