The Chicago Bulls are set to bring back guard Mac McClung on a two-way deal, filling the club’s lone open two-way slot, according to Jake Fischer of The Stein Line.
The contract will be McClung’s fourth with Chicago since he entered the league undrafted out of Texas Tech in 2021. He signed two 10-day agreements with the Bulls during his rookie season and accepted an Exhibit 10 deal last fall, which placed him with the Windy City Bulls in the G League.
The 27-year-old continues to post strong G League numbers. Through 24 games with Windy City, he is averaging 25.4 points, 7.5 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 1.4 steals in 34.5 minutes, while shooting 51.8% from the field, 35.3% from three and 81.3% from the line.
Despite appearing in only nine NBA regular-season contests for five different franchises, McClung gained national attention by winning the NBA Slam Dunk Contest in 2023, 2024 and 2025. Reports indicate he will not defend his title this year.
Chicago’s two-way vacancy emerged after Emanuel Miller was dealt to Cleveland in Sunday’s three-team trade involving the Cavaliers and Kings. McClung joins Lachlan Olbrich and Yuki Kawamura as the Bulls’ two-way players. Under league rules, he can be active for up to 19 regular-season games.
Once McClung’s signing becomes official, the Milwaukee Bucks will be the only NBA team with an open two-way roster spot.
