The Chicago Bulls stormed back from 24 points down on Tuesday night, edging the Philadelphia 76ers 113-111 at the United Center and recording the NBA’s biggest comeback of the young season.

Josh Giddey, fresh off a four-year, $100 million contract signed after a prolonged restricted free-agency negotiation, paced Chicago with 29 points, 15 rebounds and 12 assists. The 23-year-old guard has now logged triple-doubles in consecutive contests, becoming the first Bull to do so since Michael Jordan.

“Tonight was one of the best wins I’ve ever been a part of,” Giddey said after the game, noting the team’s resiliency in reversing a sluggish start.

Veteran center Nikola Vučević sealed the victory with the game-winning basket and later cautioned that Chicago cannot afford to surrender 45 first-quarter points on a regular basis. “We have to play better from the beginning,” he said. “This game showed what we can be when we play the way we need to.”

Bulls Still Winning Without Coby White

Chicago’s 6-1 start has come without Coby White, last season’s second-half scoring leader. Head coach Billy Donovan told reporters the guard remains “a couple weeks away” as he rehabs a left calf strain. “He’s sprinting, running, cutting, jumping, trying to do everything full speed,” Donovan said. “He’s felt really, really good. This has just taken a while.”

Roster Playing for Contracts

Seven of the Bulls’ 15 standard-roster players are in contract years, but Donovan said the group has embraced a team-first mindset. “Free agency will get here in July,” the coach noted. “Why worry or think about that when you have things in front of you now?”

Essengue Recalled After G League Stint

Rookie forward Noa Essengue returned to the NBA roster Wednesday following a three-day assignment with the Windy City Bulls. Donovan reiterated that the organization is committed to a patient development plan for the 18-year-old, which could include frequent trips between the NBA and G League squads.
