Chicago, IL — The Chicago Bulls have upped their proposal to restricted free-agent guard Josh Giddey, raising the figure from the original four-year, $80 million package they put on the table at the start of free agency to a new four-year, $88 million offer, ESPN’s Bobby Marks said on his YouTube show.

The revised deal would pay the 22-year-old an average of $22 million per season, a number Marks characterized as “the low end” for starting point guards. Giddey’s representatives have been seeking roughly $30 million annually since extension talks began last fall, and Marks suggested Chicago may need to climb into the $26–28 million range—roughly $100–110 million over four years—if the club views the Australian playmaker as a cornerstone.

A decision is expected within weeks. NBA training camps open later this month, and Oct. 1 is the deadline for a restricted free agent to sign his qualifying offer.

International Signings and Options

Trey Lyles | Real Madrid: Forward Trey Lyles has signed a one-year, $3 million contract with Real Madrid that includes an NBA out clause for the 2025-26 season, allowing a potential return to the league. Before committing to the Spanish powerhouse, Lyles drew interest from the Miami Heat, Sacramento Kings, and EuroLeague club Fenerbahce, according to RG.org.

Armando Bacot | Fenerbahce: Turkish club Fenerbahce has landed former North Carolina center Armando Bacot on a one-year deal worth more than $1 million. Bacot spent last season with the G League’s Memphis Hustle after signing an Exhibit 10 contract with the Grizzlies and going undrafted in 2024.

Danilo Gallinari | Future Plans: Veteran forward Danilo Gallinari, 37, reiterated plans to retire from Italy’s national team after this year’s EuroBasket but said he has not ruled out extending his professional career in either the EuroLeague or NBA. “Anything is possible,” the 777-game NBA veteran told Eurohoops, noting he has made no firm decisions about the 2025-26 season.
