CHICAGO — The Cleveland Cavaliers remained stuck in a stretch of uneven play Wednesday night, falling 127-111 to the Chicago Bulls at United Center. The loss was Cleveland’s seventh in its last 10 games.

The Cavaliers (15-13) trailed by just seven points entering the fourth quarter but were outscored 32-23 over the final 12 minutes. Cleveland committed five turnovers in the period and finished with 20 overall, repeatedly giving Chicago transition opportunities.

Guard Donovan Mitchell led Cleveland with 32 points on 11-for-23 shooting and added five assists. Rookie Jaylon Tyson supplied 21 points, while Darius Garland contributed 15 points and six assists. Forward DeAndre Hunter, seeing his first action as a reserve, also provided productive minutes off the bench.

The Bulls (11-15) capitalized on Cleveland’s mistakes, turning long rebounds and live-ball turnovers into quick scores. Chicago entered the night having dropped eight of its previous nine games.

Cleveland struggled again from beyond the arc, finishing 12-for-39 (30.8 percent). The Cavaliers’ defensive issues were equally costly, as they were unable to generate enough consecutive stops to mount a late comeback.

Wednesday’s setback followed a narrow win over Washington that required 48 points from Mitchell. The Cavaliers and Bulls meet again Friday at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, providing Cleveland an immediate chance to respond.
