The Chicago Bulls have removed executive vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas and general manager Marc Eversley, a major shake-up confirmed Monday, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Team president and CEO Michael Reinsdorf made the decision as the franchise seeks a fresh direction in its basketball operations department.
Karnisovas, hired in 2020, oversaw a 224-254 record during his tenure. Chicago reached the playoffs only once under his leadership, exiting in the first round in 2022, and has now missed the postseason four consecutive years.
The dismissal follows recent reports that the organization planned to review Karnisovas’s future after another disappointing season. Persistent struggles with roster construction and on-court competitiveness intensified calls for change.
While the front office is overhauled, head coach Billy Donovan is expected to stay. The Bulls extended Donovan’s contract last offseason after declining a request from the New York Knicks to interview him.
