Bulls raise offer to Giddey, but gap remains wide

The Chicago Bulls have increased their contract proposal to restricted free agent guard Josh Giddey, yet the two sides remain far apart on salary expectations.
According to ESPN salary-cap analyst Bobby Marks, Chicago’s initial free-agency bid of four years and $80 million has been boosted to four years and $88 million. Giddey’s representatives, however, have been targeting roughly $30 million per season since extension talks began last fall.
Marks noted that $22 million annually ranks near the bottom for starting point guards. He characterized a salary in the $26-28 million range—about $100-110 million over four years—as a more appropriate figure if the Bulls view Giddey as their long-term floor general.
Time is tightening on negotiations. NBA training camps open later this month, and the deadline to accept a qualifying offer is Oct. 1. Without a new agreement, Giddey could sign the one-year tender and revisit a larger deal in 2026.
