The Chicago Bulls have reached a deal with free-agent forward Kevin Knox, bringing the former lottery pick to training camp, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
The agreement is expected to be an Exhibit 10 contract, which would give Chicago his G League rights and allow Knox to earn a bonus of up to $85,300 if he spends at least 60 days with the Windy City Bulls.
Knox, 26, split last season between the Santa Cruz Warriors of the NBA G League and Golden State’s NBA roster. He averaged 25.3 points and 8.8 rebounds in 12 regular-season games for Santa Cruz before signing two 10-day contracts with the Warriors in February and March. Golden State kept him for the balance of the season, and he appeared in 14 NBA contests.
Selected ninth overall by New York in the 2018 NBA Draft, Knox has also suited up for the Knicks, Hawks, Pistons, Trail Blazers and Jazz. Over 320 career games he holds averages of 7.3 points and 2.8 rebounds while shooting 39 percent from the field.
Chicago currently has 19 players under contract, so no additional roster moves are required to bring Knox into camp. The signing offers the Bulls a low-risk look at a player still searching for a long-term role in the league.
