Bucks Rebuff Trade Overtures for Giannis Antetokounmpo

The Milwaukee Bucks have informed every team that Giannis Antetokounmpo is not available in trade discussions, league sources told HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto.

Front-office executives from multiple clubs have continued to check on Antetokounmpo’s status, but Milwaukee’s answer has remained the same: the two-time MVP is off limits. According to the report, the Bucks are concentrating on upgrading the roster—particularly at the wing—while keeping the franchise cornerstone in place.

Despite sitting outside the Eastern Conference’s top 10 and facing a potential fourth consecutive season of postseason uncertainty, Milwaukee has shown no willingness to consider moving its star forward. The club has been eliminated in the first round of the playoffs in each of the past three seasons, a stretch that has fueled speculation about Antetokounmpo’s long-term future.

The 29-year-old forward is currently sidelined by a right calf strain, and the team has not provided a timetable for his return. When healthy, he is averaging 28.9 points, 10.1 rebounds and 6.1 assists while shooting nearly 64 percent from the field.

Antetokounmpo is under contract through the 2026-27 season and holds a player option for 2027-28. For now, rival executives may continue to call, but the Bucks are not picking up the phone.
