The Milwaukee Bucks are actively scouting the trade market and have been keeping an eye on Sacramento Kings guard Zach LaVine, NBA insider Chris Haynes said during a recent appearance on NBA on Prime.

Haynes described Milwaukee’s efforts as a search for “a difference-maker” to bolster the roster around star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo. “One of the guys I’ve identified is Zach LaVine,” Haynes noted, adding that the front office has “done their homework” on the two-time All-Star.

According to Haynes, conversations remain in the early stages and no substantive negotiations have taken place. Nevertheless, the 28-year-old guard is reportedly high on Milwaukee’s list as the franchise evaluates potential moves ahead of the trade deadline.

LaVine is averaging 20.2 points and 3.3 rebounds this season but is expected to sit out at least one week after spraining his ankle. Milwaukee is believed to be weighing how his short-term absence—and his long-term fit—could affect any possible deal.

While trade speculation intensifies, Antetokounmpo told reporters Thursday that he has not held recent discussions with team executives about his future, leaving the Bucks’ next steps under careful consideration.
