The Milwaukee Bucks have upgraded forward/center Pete Nance from a two-way contract to a multiyear standard agreement, the club announced on social media.

To make room on the 15-man roster, Milwaukee waived guard Cam Thomas. Nance’s two-way deal allowed him to be active for up to 50 games, and Monday’s matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers would have reached that limit.

The 26-year-old has earned rotation minutes in recent weeks while Giannis Antetokounmpo remains sidelined with a knee injury. By moving to a standard contract, Nance can be available for the remainder of the regular season and, if necessary, the playoffs, though the Bucks are on the brink of elimination.

Nance spent four collegiate seasons at Northwestern before transferring to North Carolina for the 2022/23 campaign. He opened his professional career with the Cleveland Cavaliers and held a two-way contract with the Philadelphia 76ers for part of the 2024/25 season. Milwaukee added him in February 2025 on a two-year two-way pact after Philadelphia waived him.

Through 37 appearances in 2025/26, Nance is averaging 4.5 points and 2.2 rebounds in 12.1 minutes, shooting 56.4 percent from the field and 47.9 percent from beyond the arc.

With Nance now on the standard roster, the Bucks have an open two-way slot. The deadline to sign players to two-way deals passed on March 4, so that position cannot be filled until the offseason.
