Milwaukee — The NBA trade deadline passed on Thursday with no movement involving Giannis Antetokounmpo, keeping the two-time MVP in a Milwaukee Bucks uniform for the remainder of the season.
Despite speculation in the days leading up to the deadline, league sources indicated the Bucks never seriously entertained offers for their franchise cornerstone. Antetokounmpo, 29, offered his only public reaction on X, writing, “Legends don’t chase. They attract,” and sharing Leonardo DiCaprio’s “I’m not leaving” scene from The Wolf of Wall Street.
The timing of the post drew attention because reports last week suggested the forward was at least open to the idea of a trade. Instead, he remains with a club that sits at 20-29, three games behind the final Eastern Conference play-in spot.
Milwaukee’s roster could still face significant changes in the offseason if management opts for a reset, but for now, Antetokounmpo appears committed to finishing the campaign where he started it.
