Memphis Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke was arrested Wednesday afternoon in Cross County, Arkansas, on multiple charges that include trafficking a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, fleeing in a vehicle exceeding the speed limit, and improper passing.

The Cross County Sheriff’s Office declined to release further information. In an emailed statement, Chief Deputy Larry Jones said, “At this time, there is no additional information that can be released.”

Head coach Tuomas Iisalo briefly addressed the situation before Wednesday night’s home game against New York, telling reporters, “I’m aware of the report but don’t have any comments.”

Clarke, 29, has appeared in only two games this season. He missed the opening stretch while recovering from a right-knee procedure and later sustained a right-calf strain. Follow-up imaging last week ruled him out for the remainder of the year.

Injuries have slowed a career that began with a fourth-place finish in the 2020 Rookie of the Year voting. He was limited to six games in 2023-24, played 64 contests the following season, and then hurt his knee. Clarke is earning $12.5 million this season and has the same fully guaranteed salary for 2026-27 before reaching free agency in the summer of 2027.
