Serbian captain Bogdan Bogdanovic will miss the remainder of EuroBasket 2025 after suffering a ruptured hamstring, the Serbian Basketball Federation confirmed on August 31.

The 33-year-old wing sustained the injury late in the second quarter of Friday’s group-stage game against Portugal. After evaluations by both the national team and Los Angeles Clippers medical staffs, doctors determined the tear would keep him out of the tournament.

“In agreement with the Los Angeles Clippers, the captain will undergo intensive therapy in the United States to recover as quickly as possible,” the federation said in its statement.

Bogdanovic averaged 9.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 20 minutes over two EuroBasket appearances. Serbia is 3-0 in Group A and will attempt to pursue the title without its leading scorer and playmaker.

The injury raises questions about Bogdanovic’s availability for the upcoming NBA season. He battled hamstring issues early in 2024-25 but played 30 games after being traded from Atlanta to the Clippers at the deadline, posting 11.4 points and 3.2 assists in 25.0 minutes per contest. He is owed just over $16 million this season, with a $16 million team option for 2026-27.
