Former Golden State Warriors architect Bob Myers has become a minority partner in the Philadelphia 76ers’ ownership group, stepping in just after the club’s disappointing 24-58 season.

Myers, who assembled four NBA championship rosters in Golden State, leaves his recent role at ESPN to take an executive position with Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment. According to the organization, his duties will focus on the business side rather than basketball operations.

Philadelphia opened last season with NBA Finals aspirations but struggled amid injuries to Joel Embiid (knee) and the prolonged absence of Paul George. The setbacks, combined with inconsistent play, derailed the campaign and left the front office seeking stability.

President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey retains control of roster decisions, and ownership insists no structural shifts are planned. Nonetheless, adding a proven executive like Myers signals a push for accountability after the Sixers fell far short of expectations.

Team officials believe a healthy Embiid-George core can return the 76ers to contention. If on-court results do not improve quickly, Myers’ presence could evolve from broad strategic guidance to a more direct role in shaping the franchise’s direction.
