Bleacher Report has outlined a three-club trade concept that would return Dallas Mavericks center Anthony Davis to his hometown Chicago Bulls, with the Brooklyn Nets positioned as the third participant.
Proposed terms break down as follows:
Mavericks receive: Tre Jones, Zach Collins, Kevin Huerter, a protected 2026 first-round pick, Portland’s protected 2026 first via Chicago, and a collection of trade exceptions.
Bulls receive: Anthony Davis, Caleb Martin, Dante Exum, Jalen Wilson, and an $8 million trade exception.
Nets receive: Dalen Terry, Jevon Carter, the rights to Melvin Ajinça, plus second-round selections in 2029 and 2030.
League sources told multiple outlets that rival front offices already anticipate Dallas will evaluate offers for Davis after dismissing general manager Nico Harrison. The eight-time All-Star has appeared in only 14 games since last season’s headline-grabbing deal that sent Luka Dončić to Los Angeles and has battled early-season injuries.
Executives contacted by Dallas Hoops Journal added that interested teams are monitoring Davis’s conditioning. He entered training camp at 268 pounds, roughly 15 pounds heavier than his final listed weight with the Lakers, and clubs believe trimming down is essential for him to regain his trademark mobility.
Through limited action this year, Davis is averaging 20.8 points, 10.2 rebounds and 1.6 steals while shooting 52 percent from the field. He is in the first season of a three-year, $175 million contract that carries a $62.8 million player option for 2027-28.
The Mavericks are expected to work with Davis’s agent, Rich Paul, as they map out possible next steps. While several teams have expressed preliminary interest, the scenario remains speculative for now—much like Bleacher Report’s path that would bring the Chicago native back to the United Center.
