The Portland Trail Blazers on Friday released updated injury timelines for two key guards, third-year point guard Scoot Henderson and veteran Jrue Holiday.
Henderson, 21, will remain out at least two to four more weeks as he continues to heal from a torn left hamstring suffered during a late-September workout. The former No. 3 overall draft pick has not appeared in a game this season and will be re-evaluated after the new recovery window.
Holiday, who missed his fourth straight game Friday night at Golden State, is dealing with a right calf strain. The team said the two-time All-Star will be re-examined in one to two weeks. Before the injury, the 35-year-old guard averaged 16.7 points, 8.3 assists, 5.3 rebounds and 1.6 steals while shooting .446 from the field, .365 from three and .840 at the line in 12 appearances spanning 33.4 minutes per contest.
The Blazers also played without shooting guard Shaedon Sharpe for a second consecutive game Friday. According to the club, the Canadian wing is currently listed day-to-day.
Portland’s backcourt has been hit hard this fall. Henderson has yet to debut in 2025-26; Blake Wesley is sidelined after recent foot surgery; Matisse Thybulle is three weeks into a projected four-to-six-week absence following thumb surgery; and franchise icon Damian Lillard is out for the season with a torn Achilles, an injury known at the time of his re-signing.
The Blazers opened 5-3 but have dropped six of their last seven and sit at 6-9. Acting head coach Tiago Splitter said earlier this week the team must “adapt” to the mounting injuries, noting that clubs able to adjust quickly tend to succeed.
According to reporting by Sean Highkin, Portland could consider applying for an NBA hardship exception to add roster help, though approval would hinge on Thybulle’s recovery timeline.
