The Portland Trail Blazers released a medical update on New Year’s Day, outlining the status of four key players currently sidelined by injuries.

Jrue Holiday has been cleared to begin a graded return to on-court work after missing time with a right calf strain sustained on November 14. The 35-year-old guard, acquired from Boston in the offseason, has appeared in 12 games, averaging 16.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and 8.3 assists over 33.4 minutes. The team did not set a target date for his return, stating that availability will be determined by how he responds to increased activity.

Matisse Thybulle, who underwent right thumb surgery in late October, is also ramping up activity. According to the Blazers, the forward continues to deal with persistent right knee tendinopathy but is “progressing toward a return.” Thybulle played four games before the procedure.

Scoot Henderson has begun non-contact, on-court drills as he works back from the hamstring injury that has kept him out all season. The No. 3 pick in the 2023 draft will be reevaluated in two weeks.

Jerami Grant remains day-to-day with left Achilles tendinitis. Sidelined since December 18, the 31-year-old forward is traveling with the club on its current road swing. Grant has been mentioned in trade speculation ahead of the NBA’s February 5 deadline.
